Amazon aims to export goods worth $20 billion from India by 2025

Amazon is now India's largest online shopping company. Launched in 2015, the company is gaining significant traction in India as global trade e-commerce giant Amazon's business-to-consumer (B2C) export platform with a handful of sellers.
Amazon has targeted exports of goods worth $20 billion by 2025 from India. The Amazon company is currently moving towards their goal by adding thousands of small sellers to its e-commerce platform. "We are very pleased and encouraged by the number of entrepreneurs who have signed up with us this year," Amazon's director of global trade, Bhupen Wakankar, told Reuters, referring to the export plan. We plan to increase our scale in the future.
Wakankar said during the 11 days of shopping from Friday, homewares like "Made in India" organic health supplements, bath towels, rugs, children's toys, home decor were in high demand ahead of the Black Friday Cyber Monday sale. Amazon has engaged more than 1 lakh manufacturers and sellers to sell a wide range of Indian products to overseas customers. There are also sellers who got the opportunity to export through this company for the first time, many of them quit corporate jobs and started e-commerce exports.
There are thousands of small exporters in India who are currently seeing around 70% growth in their business through this e-commerce platform. They have provided logistical support and access to over 200 million Amazon Prime members worldwide. Currently, the sale of various products like fashion products, clothing, household products such as kitchen appliances, home furniture, home decoration products, etc., children's toys has increased tremendously on this e-commerce platform.
Exports of Indian goods fell by 7% year-on-year from April to October of the current fiscal year.
Apart from regular days, festive days like Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and New Year boost the sales of Indian products in markets like US, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany.
Wakankar, to encourage exporters, has reduced its sales program subscription fee from $120 to $1 for the first three months for exporters who sign up before March 31.
