Many countries are in trouble due to India stopping the export of rice, IMF requests to lift the ban

Recently India has banned the export of Non-Basmati White Rice.  As a result, food crisis may occur in many countries in the world.  Because many countries of the world including USA, Europe are dependent on India for high quality rice.

Experts fear that global food crisis may occur due to India’s banning rice export. IMF or international monetary fund came forward to solve this situation.  They said they would request India to lift the ban on rice exports.  IMF chief Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas said, 'I will request India to withdraw this decision.  Otherwise, it will have a bad effect on the whole world.” Financial experts claim that, inflation will also have a serious impact on America, Britain, Canada, and the countries of Eastern Europe.  Its impact can also be seen in countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Saudi Arabia in the Middle East.

Incidentally, Asian countries, including India, export 90 percent of rice to the international market.  India alone exports 40 percent of rice to the world market.  After this announcement by India People of USA and European countries are busy to stock rice.  There are long queues to buy rice at various market places.  As a result, the price of rice has almost doubled there.

India exports rice to more than 100 countries.  The biggest buyers are China, Senegal and Togo.  As a result of India's decision, 80 percent of rice exports have been blocked.  The IMF is concerned about this.  Meanwhile, NRI are also in trouble as rice exports from India have stopped.  Long queues form in front of department stores to buy rice.

Due to heavy rains rice seedlings could not be planted in the land in India's Uttar Bharat (North India).  Even in several states, including West Bengal, rice seedlings were not planted due to less than required rainfall.  There has been a disruption in the supply of rice compared to the requirement in the country.  The price of rice in the country's market is on the rise.  In order not to disrupt the supply of rice to the people of the country, the government has banned the export of rice.  However, there is no ban on the export of parboiled non-Basmati and Basmati rice.  IMF will request India to prevent food crisis in the world.
