India's Ban Only White Rice exports, worries Europe, America

 







There was a  time when  rice and wheat used to come to India from America.  The ships used to load rice and wheat unfit for consumption of the people of that country in the port of India.  The people of this country tried to survive by eating that rice and wheat.  The people of this country have been eating that rice-wheat rice-bread that is unfit for US citizens to eat.  It is in America that there is now a clamor for Indian rice.

 

No more rice can be exported except Basmati, the Indian government has imposed this ban from Thursday, July 20. In this case also one thing is clear that the Government of India has banned the export of non-Basmati white rice only.  But there is no ban on export of parboiled rice.  This issue has also been disclosed in a statement by the government late on Thursday, July 20.  As a result, there is no obstacle for all the exporters who export parboiled rice.

  The government said in a statement, "The government has not made any changes in the export policy of basmati and non-basmati parboiled rice . Majority of the rice exports are made up of this type of rice. Only non-basmati white rice i.e. Atap rice has been banned.



 As a result, many countries in the world have problems with the supply of rice.  People in American cities rushed to grocery stores to buy rice after learning that Indian rice would not be available.  Long crowd at the rice counter.  Apart from America, Indian rice is also very popular in European countries.  There is a compulsion to collect rice everywhere.  Because the supply of Indian rice is good, the price is within reach.





Due to severe floods in North India, large areas of paddy could not be planted there.  This work is supposed to be completed by July in that part of the country.  But in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan, the fields are still knee-deep in water.  In one situation, there is a danger that the production will be killed because the rice seedlings are not planted.  Therefore, keeping in mind the domestic demand of the country, the export of rice has been stopped.  However, Bangladesh will not fall under this ban of India.  A few months ago, India signed an agreement with that country that India will supply some essential commodities including rice to that country as required.  But many countries are troubled by New Delhi's decision.  Not only India's rice, wheat exports from Ukraine are also stopped in many countries due to Russia's ban on sea routes.  Along with rice, the import of corn is also stopped due to Russia's ban.

  India's problem is not only floods, but due to non-rainfall in eastern and central India, paddy plowing could not be started in many states including West Bengal. Even so, there is a fear of killing the production of rice. Already the Indian market has grown by 11 percent in the last one year. This is also a reason to stop exports. India is now the number one exporter of rice in the world. Thailand and Vietnam are in second and third place respectively. But in terms of quality, Indian rice is more in demand than Thai and Vietnamese rice.

According to government sources, forty countries of the world are in trouble due to New Delhi's decision. The price of rice has started to rise there. India stopped wheat exports last year. Exports of leather goods from India will decline by 13-15 percent in the current fiscal

Chairman of the Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Association, K.R. Vijayan said exports of leather goods from India will decline by 13-15 per cent in the fiscal year 2023-24. But with strong winter demand for leather products in Europe, we expect a strong rebound of around 20 per cent in FY25 on account of new orders from there.
